Donor Story: Lorraine
In the winter of 2013, Lorraine injured her right knee ligaments. Lorraine's care included the initial visit to the emergency room, several consultations with various medical professionals, and physiotherapy care at the Blind River site.
Lorraine's care lasted several months, but she recovered and was able to return to a more active lifestyle. Grateful for the care she received, Lorraine made a donation towards the physiotherapy department of the Blind River site.
In her letter to NSHN (formally BRDHC) CEO Gaston Lavigne, Lorraine writes:
I have read that the vision of BRDHC is "to be recognized for excellence in rural health care and service delivery" and it is my opinion that this has been achieved and should be acknowledged. My patient experience was a most positive one, due to the timely coordination and delivery of pleasant and efficient professional care. Thank you.
It is thanks to Lorraine's generosity that the physiotherapy department was able to purchase a new patient treatment bed, keeping local health care within reach. Thank you, Lorraine!
