History
The Foundation was formed in 2006 in response to growing needs from the North Shore Health Network (formally the Blind River District Health Centre). The monies raised would be used to purchase needed medical equipment and fund patient services.
On April 1st 2013 the Richards Landing - Matthews site and the Thessalon site were integrated with the North Shore Health Network (NSHN). This expanded the Foundation to include the area from the Town of Spanish to the Township of McDonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional.
Why We're Needed
Ontario hospitals are working harder than ever. Unfortunately, the government does not cover the cost of medical equipment. The government provides funding for day-to-day operations. This includes salaries and benefits for employees, supplies and maintenance expenses, medical and surgical supplies, and other expenses needed to operate our hospitals.
Our hospitals rely on your generous gifts to help purchase new and replace ageing equipment. New equipment lets workers give you safer care and helps keep health services in your community.
Vision
Collectively ensuring that appropriate health care will always be within reach.
